Wild Card Roasters is the parent company of Weaver’s Coffee & Tea, a premium coffee and tea brand founded in San Rafael, California.
Founded in 2007, Wild Card Roasters brings together decades of coffee roasting experience with a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and consistency. Our coffee roastery and operations are based in San Rafael, California, where we roast the coffees behind Weaver’s Coffee & Tea.
Our work begins with selecting quality Arabica coffee and continues through roasting, blending, cupping, and quality control. We believe great coffee comes from understanding the coffee itself and knowing how to roast it to develop its distinctive flavor, aroma, body, and character.
A Heritage of Coffee Roasting
Coffee roasting is at the heart of Wild Card Roasters.
Master Roaster John Weaver began roasting coffee in 1980 and developed his craft working alongside two influential figures in specialty coffee, Alfred Peet and Sal Bonavita. Over the decades, John developed extensive experience in green coffee selection, roasting, blending, and cupping.
In 2007, John Weaver joined Renée Brown, Michael Brown, and Bryce Inouye to establish Wild Card Roasters and Weaver’s Coffee & Tea in San Rafael, California.
That experience continues to shape how we approach coffee today. Rather than treating roasting as a standardized production process, we focus on understanding the characteristics of each coffee and using skilled roasting to bring out the flavors we want in the cup.

Weaver’s Coffee & Tea is the consumer-facing coffee and tea brand of Wild Card Roasters.
Through Weaver’s Coffee & Tea, customers can experience the coffees we roast in San Rafael. The collection includes signature blends, single-origin coffees, espresso, decaffeinated coffee, and a range of medium, medium-dark, and dark roasts.
While Wild Card Roasters is the company behind the brand, Weaver’s Coffee & Tea is where consumers can explore our coffees and teas, learn more about our approach to coffee, and shop online.
